These services are provided by self-employed workers from our Register of Helpers. These helpers have been interviewed and vetted before being placed on our Register.
Requests for our services can be made by anyone. Many people come to us following recommendations from a friend. We work closely with health & social care professionals who will refer their clients on to Home Support Elmbridge. We also liaise closely with other charities and organisations who provide help & support to people in need living in Elmbridge.
Following a request for one or more of our services one of our Office Team will make an appointment to visit you at home to discuss your needs and how Home Support Elmbridge can help you.
A helper will then be allocated to you. The Co-ordinator will follow up to check with you that you are happy with the service.
Bathing Service
Help with bathing or showering is available usually once or twice a week for people who feel unable to do this safely on their own.
If it is assessed that bathing or showering is not safe, assistance with a strip wash can be offered and a referral for an assessment by an Occupational Therapist can be made who may then recommend aids, or adaptions to improve safety in the bathroom.
The same Carer will assist you on the day and time which is convenient for you, with the exception of holidays when we provide cover subject to availability.
All helpers providing this service are experienced and have the appropriate qualifications.
The charge for this service is from £16 per bath, shower or strip wash.

Housework
General Housework is a regular service, usually weekly or fortnightly, to include basic household tasks e.g. dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen & bathroom, including washing the floors & wiping down the outside of cupboards.
The recommended charge for this service is currently from £15.00 per hour.
Spring cleaning services could include cleaning out cupboards, washing down paintwork, cleaning the inside of windows.
The recommended charge for this service is currently from £20.00 per hour.
Laundry can be done in your own washing machine and be included as part of the general housework service. We also offer a pick-up service.
The same helper will assist you on each agreed time and day, with the exception of holidays of more than one week, when we provide cover subject to availability.

Gardening Service
This is a service for tidying & maintenance of gardens, if you like your garden neat and tidy and can no longer do it yourself let us help.
Basic tasks offered will include mowing, pruning, weeding & general removal of waste into your garden waste bags or bins.
Please remember our helpers are not qualified gardeners but are people who have an interest and experience in doing gardening.
Things got out of hand? Initial clearances of overgrown gardens can be arranged plus maintenance visits at intervals as requested.
PAYMENT FOR THESE SERVICES
The charge for general gardening & maintenance service is currently from £20.00 per hour.
The charge for initial clearances or one-off clearances is normally from £25.00 per hour.

Visiting Service
We can provide a helper to assist with the practical help that a family member would normally do. The following services can be provided:
*Prompt to take medication
*Make or change bed
*Make snack meals/tea/coffee
*Chat
*Take client for a walk
*Feeding pets or taking family dog for a walk
Carers Relief Service
This service is also available for family or friends who regularly visit a loved one. The service gives families a chance to have a break or is unavailable if they are unwell. The visits are generally for up to one hour.
The helper will provide the practical help the family or carer would normally do & provide any emotional support which may be needed at this time.
PAYMENT FOR THESE SERVICES
*From £15.00 per hour per visit Mondays – Fridays
*From £17.50 per hour per visit Weekends & Bank Holidays

Shopping Service
This is a regular service, usually weekly, where a helper will do your shopping at a supermarket of your choice and deliver the items to your home. Your shopper will be able to put your shopping away and if required, check your fridge or cupboards for out-of-date items.
Payment for your shopping is payable by cheque or cash to your helper on delivery.
The charge for the service is currently from £15.00 per hour which is to be paid to your helper.
Accompanied shopping service £15 per hour.

We can now offer a mobile hairdressing service. Our hairdresser is fully police-checked. *Current prices on request.
