About Us

Home Support Elmbridge

What we do

Home Support Elmbridge  is a charity that for over the last 30 years has been providing practical help and support to people in the Borough of Elmbridge and surrounding areas, who due to age, sickness or disability may need additional support at home.

We receive no core funding and depend on our small membership fee and our fundraising efforts to pay for our services.

We receive referrals from Health Care & Social Care professionals, self referrals and from friends or family.

What we do

  • We arrange a variety of services to help people over the age of 18 who, because of age, sickness or disability, cannot easily make such arrangements for themselves
  • When a client is first referred, a home visit is arranged with one of our coordinators to assess clients’ needs and discuss the services we provide. We recruit and allocate self employed helpers who have been fully vetted including Police Checks DBS (disclosure and barring service) for working with vulnerable people are in place.
  • Our arrangements are monitored by quality control checks periodically.  A complaints and compliments procedure is also in place.
  • Home Support Elmbridge have self-employed helpers providing a service to over 300 clients in Elmbridge.

There is a membership fee payableby standing order. This fee helps towards our administration costs (as a Charity we do not make any profits on our services). Clients pay helpers directly, based on recommended rates set bythe charity.

Some funds are available for those in financial difficulties targeted to those with the greatest needs.
